Pro-Abortion |
Why abortion? Well, it's really the mother's decision why she wants to abort her child. It could be the fact that the mother doesn't want to face the guilt of telling her child he was an accident. After all, forty-nine percent of all pregnancies are accidental. Or maybe the mother is less than twenty and cannot afford to have a baby and would like to continue college. "Livestrong.com" states that one out of three girls get pregnant before reaching twenty years old. Abortion has been legal in the United States for over three decades and I say that it should remain legal. You might think that abortion is murder. That you are killing a child. But most abortions are conducted in the first twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy. This means that the baby…no…sperm and egg have become a fetus after eight weeks of conception. The so called "baby" has not even developed its senses. Does it feel pain? No. What is even more painful is when a child realizes that he has been put up for adoption. Adoption in the U.S. has been very popular. According to "Procon.org", over two million couples want to adopt a child. But the website also states that because of abortion, there are "only 134,000 U.S. children available to be adopted as of June 2002". Many will say that it is because of abortion that these two million couple's wishes are unfulfilled, but imagine a world where every year, more than two million kids have to face adoption. Where those two million kids have finally figured out that they were unwanted. That they…were…accidents. Now that's cruelty. Then imagine that our world cannot afford to have over two million more children in the United States. Actually, you don't even have to imagine that. Overpopulation is already a huge crisis we are facing. Soon, we'll run out of food, the economy will go down, and we'll have no more resources. So what's the point of overpopulating America? Just to satisfy two million couples wants? Let me ask you this. How would this affect us long term? Two hundred thousand people are being born every day. Around seventy thousand of those babies are accidental. The world would be a much happier place both short term and long term. What do they gain? They gain a better life without an unwanted child and a better future. And what do all of us gain? A better world with no overpopulation. With better, happier children. With better economy. With the economy going down in the U.S., America's parents will not be able to afford a child. The 2003 average income for a household in America was $45,018 a year. To raise a child until he is eighteen-years-old costs $178,170, not including the 78,380 dollar public college. Just imagine…imagine how lucky we are to be here at Nueva. To be at a private school. To be in the two out of three families that can afford basics like food! In 2007, research showed us that half of families can't afford college for their kids. The year is 2012. If we stopped abortion now, the population would jump to eight billion by 2020 and that is the year you will be at college. Imagine how disastrous your future could be. One very popular argument against abortion is that doctors perform abortion to make money. "Procon.org" states that "The abortion industry makes an estimated $831 million annually. An abortion can cost anywhere from around $350 to more than $1,000. Abortion entrepreneurs are more interested in making money than assisting their clients." This statement is pretty truthful. In fact, I support it one hundred percent. But guest what? Not only abortion entrepreneurs want money, but so does Pampers, Baby Einstein, Banana Boat, and Fisher Price. There are many more baby brands to name, but they are not the only people who make money off of your children. Here are just a few examples: Disney, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Universal Studios, House of Air, Minecraft, Portal, Call of Duty, Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox to Chanel, Entertainment Weekly, Abercrombie and Fitch, Clinique, Revlon, Cover Girl, Selena Gomez, and finally, Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber is worth about $105 million and he makes all that money off of all the kids nagging their parents to go to his concert. The $178,170 dollars used to raise a child does not include all these luxuries. So the decision is yours. Spend $1000 on abortion, or spend millions on a child you may not have wanted. You may not be religious and yet you still think abortion is cruel. You may say that doctors who perform abortion just try to make money. You may be religious, your beliefs may say that abortion is murder, and I am at no state to correct or justify your religion. But here's a question for you. What good would it do you if you made abortion illegal? Thank you. |
