Describing three colors without naming them.
There are three colors our flag is known for;
three simple colors most people adore.
Say them together, it is a cliche;
taken together they say USA.

First we have blood and Rudolf’s shiny nose,
lipstick and fire-truck, valentine rose.
Cherry tomatoes, embarrassment hue;
stops signs and ketchup, a cardinal, too.

Next comes this paper on which I now write;
soap suds, marshmallow, those headlights at night.
Beautiful teeth, snow, a picket fence post;
fresh laundered sheets, even Casper the Ghost!

Last, but not least, we now honor the sky;
cold spinning Neptune, a berry in pie.
Post office boxes we use for the mail;
all of those jeans, and a peacock’s bright tail.

With these three colors may it always wave;
a land of the free and home of the brave.
Nameless three colors, yet still they unwind;
American flag, so nicely designed.
