Poetry Sustains

Plan your words, take a leap
Only say quickly then go
End the line,
Try not to repeat.
Red eyes become smaller,
You made me cry today.

Slow actions, weary hearts
Unlocked by a damaging guru,
Slashed emotion drowns,
Tennyson's lady without a boat.
A child watching an enigma,
In cold watery words I ski.
Now I inhabit my own,
Soft upon the pages.
