When Stars Die

They live for eons and eons
Their light shines on and on
They seem to live forever
That is until they’re gone

A star has many meanings
A star is many things
Like love that’s everlasting
Or a set of angel wings

We mourn the ones who leave us
We sob and say goodbye
But who will mourn the stars
When it’s time for them to die?

Who will bring the flowers?
To their morbid grave
Who will put the monuments?
At the mouth of a huge cave

Will you hope and pray
Will you watch the sky?
Will you wish with passion?
And never say goodbye

What will you be doing
When the stars all die
