Voicing a strong opinion on Americans right to vote and how this should be used. . |
As Americans we have the right to vote. Please keep in mind this is not a right we have always had. This (like many rights) we have earned, so we need to be very thankful for it. You may also want to consider…just because we earned this right and we currently have it, that doesn’t mean it cannot be taken away from us. Indeed that can very easily happen. I will not go into the details. We are educated people, we understand history, the current and the future, it could definitely happen. The powerful hand that feeds you, can also slap you. Now, being an American and having the right to vote means that you need to vote. I don’t mean in the sense “you have to go vote, just because you have the right to.” What I mean is; you need to express your freedom and your believes. The majority of American’s do not vote simply because they are scared, they are scared of what they truly believe in. We have people dying for us every day, just so you can make that vote. Just so you have the freedom to express what you believe in. Wife’s who are now widowed; children will grow up never meeting their daddy’s. How scared do you think they were before they died fighting for our freedom? DO NOT BE SCARED, that is just an excuse and it’s not even a good one. Do some research (okay, so a lot of research), go with a friend or a family member or go by yourself, whichever makes you more comfortable. YOU are an American, which is one of the most proud things you can say, now express it! Now for those of you who do vote and vote “just because”, please stop. Stop and re-read everything above. I am a very political person and I am a very American person, true and true. I am not going to go into politics (there will be plenty of time for that at a later date). However, I am going to tell you that I know a good part of Americans pick a political party simply because their friends or family members have. Or they vote for something because they are swayed by the same factors. Do not do this. This makes you stupid, very stupid. This should automatically have you kicked out as an American. Research people, research! Imagine you are voting for a presidential election and you think, I’m going to vote for him because he is black or because he is against abortion or because it’s a chick. That’s what you base your vote off of. Yeah, that’s super, fuckin’ super! You are a jackass. It is okay to think, I like them because of those things and continue to go do more research to see if you completely agree with all of their views before voting for them. NOT ok to vote for them based on one simple factor (yes, a lot of people do this). These same rules apply when picking a political party. Also, do not let your friends and family sway you. You may listen to them; ask their opinions, advice, do research. But, that’s it. YOU make your own decision. Being an American=freedom, individualism, power. USE IT! {/b} |
