A small poem inspired by the game of the same title.
Babies Dream of Dead Worlds.

I often wonder, what it's like,
to be born, to be given life,
O how I wonder, how I wonder,
What do babies dream at night?

I often wonder what it's like,
to be blind, without sight.
O how I wonder, how I wonder,
What do the blind ones dream tonight?

I often wonder what it's like,
to be mute, without sound.
O how I wonder, how I wonder,
What do the mute ones think tonight?

I often wonder what it's like,
to be deaf, without hearing,
O how I wonder, how I wonder,
What do the deaf ones hear tonight?

I often wonder what it's like,
to be tasteless, without flavor,
O how I wonder, how I wonder,
What do the tasteless eat tonight?

I often wonder what it's like,
to be feelless, without touch,
O how I wonder, how I wonder,
What to the feelless touch tonight?

I often wonder what it's like,
to be emotionless, like a doll,
O how I wonder, how I wonder,
what do the emotionless feel tonight?

I often wonder, what it's like,
to be born, to be given life,
O how I wonder, how I wonder,
What do babies dream at night?

But I need not think, i need not dream,
I know the answer, the riddle, the sin,
I tell you this, friend of mine,
not twice nor thrice, but only once:

Babies dream of dead worlds at night.
