Christmas to me is....
Christmas. I love Christmas when I was small. Although I cried through most of them. I remembered bringing out the Christmas tree my mother put inside the cupboard every year when the time is near for Christmas. I love the little stuff we hang around the tree, me and my brother mainly. There were crystal horses, big red glass balls, little angels and the Christmas lights. My mother do not bother to decorate the tree. Our house is a Chinese family, therefore we do not celebrate Christmas but I love Christmas. The love was mainly due to its meaning.

I love all festivals because of their meanings. Festivals and traditions, to me, means bringing the whole family together, having lunch on the dining table and after that sing Christmas carols. Forgiveness happens on the same day too. Nothing matters and everyone is happy.

My wish every year was for my father to come back home for Christmas. I believed I was really influenced by traditions of festivals. I believe my father will come back one day, one day, to celebrate Christmas with me. However, it never happened. In the end, the Christmas tree was also thrown away due to rats inhabiting it and I stopped wishing for him to come back home. He was a Christian or a Catholic. He goes to churches. Therefore, I really believed, if every year I prepared the Christmas tree, he will come back to celebrate Christmas and forgiveness will be in the air and our family reunited and have the dinner as I dream and longed.

It's many years now. Christmas does not mean that heavy on me now. I do not buy Christmas gifts and attend any countdowns or parties. However, I will still celebrate it if I have chance one day, with my family and friends who are alone and bring out the spirit of Christmas. Christmas is to share happiness to all people, a warm, warm festival despite of the cold weather.
