I have been walking in this desert
The load I carried on my back was taking its toll
I have been in this sand, this storm for so long
I am tormented, thirsty, weary and lost.
The sun scorched me, the sand blinded me
I have no sense of direction
but I know now that there is no help waiting for me
I thirst... I long for water, cool clear water
Water that can quench this unending thirst.
I fell... yet there was no outstretched arm
No hand to keep me, while I fall, from harm
I fell with a crash, bruising my knees
I am hurt! I thirst! I need rest!
But I have to go through the test.
I tried to rise but but my hands trembled
There was no strength
I tried to stand but my knees collapsed
Please Lord send me some help I am lost
Please help me or I shall die.....
I felt a cool breeze as a gentle hand lifted me
I felt water, delicious water trickling on my lips
I swallowed, I gulped and lifted my head
"I am here", was all I heard as I grasped the web of sleep
I felt safe, I felt warm, I was home, home at last.
