Take the stars, the moon, the sun.
Rip the land right from the sea;
Snub out every star.
Pluck the leaves from every tree;
Make what's near, far.

Suck the color from the rainbow;
Make a teardrop dry.
Take the name from every Jane Doe;
Cause the happy to cry.

Do what you will to whom you will;
Take from the things you see.
The world continues turning, still;
Just don't take him from me.
