Looming tree's that blocked the afternoons' shearing heat were mere blurs as Arthur ran. His legs ached and threatened to buckle under the weight of running from the forest bandits for what seemed like days. Sweat pouring from his face like a waterfall stung his eyes no matter how many times he would wipe them away. Air, once refreshing after a race with the other village children, now seemed to stab him in his sides with each step he took forward. This effort was yet not enough to out run the bandits as they knew the area well and he had never ventured into this towering forest before.
