The dialogue in my head.
But it’s all about taking the risk; letting go of fear and falling in love.
Is love a wild adventure or a puzzle to be solved?
A concept to be analyzed until thoroughly understood?
Should we fling our handicaps aside and rush to it with open arms?
Or, rather, should we approach with a sharp mind and a guarded soul?
Though I’d enjoy a carefree approach, I can not do it.  I’m not wired to.
I see the object and wish to be dashing and charming, wish to perfectly express every thought and emotion, and yet…
…yet, my face remains stone with rejection acting as the primary influence for my containment.

Maybe, just once, I’ll break through that barrier and face the stinging humiliation of the potential undesired reaction.  Oh, love, how I wish you played fair.  How I wish that one could approach another in peace and leave with dignity and that life could resume as normal when you are through.  Oh, love, how this being yearns to know you in true form and no longer take the beatings.  But, no, love, you are merciless in your decisions and leave us all shattered and empty and trying our best to swallow the truth when all we want is to know everything you have to offer and all we want is not to feel.  Love, stop making me believe all my dreams can come true in you because it hurts when they never do, and not just the first time.  Love, oh, love…if only we could be swept off our feet and live happily ever after instead of creeping ever so slowly, cautiously, toward an unknown outcome without the proper tools to succeed or recover.  How will we fair?  When will we learn?

Love.  Such a dangerous game we subject ourselves to.
Approach with an alert mind and a trembling heart.
