A unexpected meeting of a man and a woman
From a distance I noticed your style it was smoother than Fred Astaire's

Immediately I wanted to know your name where did you come from

praying and hoping you'd offer to take me there

For the rest of the night I watched you, never a beat did you miss

I found myself anxious to have a conversation, pondering questions like this:

What's your sign? Will you smile for me? are you single? how soft are you lips?

I then heard a voice say all of your answers Ms. Thang you will find in his kiss

Totally surprised by my contemplations, I had never been mesmerized before

You did nothing that special, hell you'd just walked through the door

There was an insatiable sensation that was controlling me that night

Even though the room was packed with people and the music was jammin def tight

My eyes keep wondering back to you man, then that voice spoke to me again

Tammey girl he's your blessing you're about to meet your Mister Right

I sipped my drink and told my girl let's line dance awhile, I'm not one that scouts for a mate

My heart had been hurt before,I was happy I healed, as for me, love could really, really wait

The party was great everybody having fun, laughter and small talk filled the room

I sensed your presence and began to trip, why am I thinking about a groom?

That night was extra festive as a matter of fact it was Christmas Eve

I thought of you, me and mistletoe, some visions even I couldn't believe

I hoped you had nowhere else to go, I couldn't stand to watch you leave

Even in that sociable atmosphere my eyes would wonder back to you

God please give me a sign to confirm my thougths, could this man really be true

The night grew to a close and the party began to shut down it was time for us to go

Folks filed out, the bartenders cleaned and the DJ played one last song fo sho

That's when my life instantly changed you looked in my eyes and said come dance with me

I said I don't dance as well as you, you laughed saying girl I know you can't, I've been dancing since age three

I complimented your talent and I asked who taught you to dance

You answered my Mom, and her moves you really gotta see

I pictured a woman teaching her son how to love a girl some day, maybe she prepared him for me

I was taken by surprise, never thought I'd get that close, oh you smelled um um good

I knew this moment would not last forever, so, I just inhaled as much of you as I could

You took my hand and ushered me out to the empty dance floor

I would have been fine if you'd danced alone, I wanted to watch your Michael J. moves some more

The speakers serenaded us with Before I Le Go performed by Frankie Beverly and Maze

We swung out your swagger was flawless, couldn't you tell I was in a daze?

The song ended and so did the night the moment was over and I was ok

I left that party smiling for I knew we'd meet again and we did on Valentine's Day

Since then you have become the man I respect, admire, trust and adore

All I want to do these days is share my life on earth with you, loving you more and more
