she hides behind her illness
uses it to run away
but when she really lets go
amazing is what you will find

i see her from a distance
and we catch eyes
a simple smile and i know
i can find home

let her in my mind
she does the same
i smile again

she is scared like a little girl
her heart's been abused
she finds it hard to speak
her mind is a maze

she is calm
