The Doll in the Mansion

In a large house on a hilltop a little five year old girl lived all alone. She had no memories of a family
This girl had a doll, a doll with white hair and pastel eyes. Everyday the girl would brush the doll's hair and change the doll's clothing. and everyday the girl got everything she needed
One day a woman bought the home the little girl and the doll were living in, and the woman began to take care of the girl
The girl soon forgot about the doll that now sat covered in dust and cobwebs in a small corner of the girls room. by the end of that week the doll's eyes had turned the color of blood and rust. The doll began to cry when the girl was with the with the woman and as time passed the doll's tears turned to blood. As the doll mourned and cried for the loss of the little girl's love the house began to collapse.
A wooden bean fell on the woman one day and pinned her to the floor. she slowly began to die. As she cried in agony the little girl went to get the doll for the woman hoping it would serve as some comfort. the little girl quickly brushed the doll's hair and changed the tear stained clothing. When the doll was clean again the girl put the doll in the woman's arms.
The girl left to go get the woman a drink of water. Once the girl was gone the doll's head spun around to look into the dying woman's eyes. The doll said,
"No one takes my child"
And another beam fell on the woman just as she tried to fling the doll away, crushing the woman's heart.
The doll's eyes went back to happy pastels and her hair turned the same color as the dead woman. A light caramel brown. The house returned to normal and the woman's body disappeared.
the girl forgot about the woman and the cycle of care for the doll began again
