A poem for a special person
Through My Lover's Eyes

My heart aches to be with you
The blood drips down my soul
To a place I'd been hiding
From the place of "let go"

The past had been present
All along, through my denial
Until it was too much time spent
Like the end of a free trial

My thoughts of our moments
Our sweet memories
Now fall as tears from my eyes
My mind dies to set free

But I hold onto the treasures
These I hold so dear to my heart
For if it wasn't for my negligence
We wouldn't be apart

I yearn for the day I can see your sweet face again
Hold you in my arms
Hear from your heart
What's of you, what's within

To be close to you and know you like no one has before
To move on from this situation
Slam it, shut it, close and lock the door

Into a world without knowing
No way for me to control
Only trusting and fully
Just letting myself go

This is where I long to be
Being with you, being with me

Never treading backwards
Never again to feel this chastisin'
Only setting sail forward
To deepen our love on the horizon

Truly, madly, deeply
I am so in love with you
And everyday for the rest of my life
I plan to prove it, yes it's true

For no man has ever seen me the way that you do
No man has ever enouraged me the way that you do
No man has ever cared this much about me
It was a startling surprise
To see myself in color
To see through my lover's eyes
