Why didn't we go back
When you wrote your last letter.
Addressed it to me
and you said your goodbyes.
A hug and a kiss, then water filled my eyes

I begged you to stay,
hoping you'd see my way
But you cried and said no.
Your daughter looked away
she just didn't care
Which pushed you closer to the edge
