A little light hearted poem about that old saying that 'Love Makes The World Go Around' |
What Makes The World Go Around? Love makes the world go around, Well that’s what they say, That the fluttering of hearts, Spins our planet on its way. But some point to money, To explain our speedy pace, That its yen, dollar and euro That hurtle us through space. Love makes the world go around, Or so I’ve been told, That a passionate embrace, Gives us seasons - hot and cold. But scientist like Kepler, Will tell you as fact, That it’s all caused by gravity, That that’s the true force that attracts. Love makes the world go around, I’m told that it’s true, That the most tender of kisses, Moves the Earth and oceans blue. But with all the suffering, The wars and conflicts which brew, You’d think it would have, Much better things to do. (P.S. To any scientifically minded readers I am aware that its more specifically conservation of angular momentum that makes the world go around - but try fitting that into a poem :D ) |
