The topic of cutting your hair inspired me to write.

My Hair and Me.

My hair and me always have this constant fight.
I braid, relax, and try to curl it tight.
Tryin' my damndest but it's always right.

Without the perm it's nappy, kinky, too real and thick
With the perm it's being a sell out, a fake, a phony and too thin
U see if I cut it all off I'd be goin against my ancestors...


See my hair and me we have history together.
The good, the best and stormy weather.
We've rocked the cornrows, pigtails and even a fro
It's always done even when I'm poe!

As best I know
It's the longest standing relationship I've ever had
Always right and never wrong does me good and never bad
