That day I saw him in the rain I hoped someday he’d feel the same They don’t believe in love at first sight But I believe in desire at first slight I got to ride in his little white truck With a heart full of hope and a chest full of luck The simplest touch it drives me wild He knows what I am, that I’m still a child Kiss on the eyelids the touch of a feather These finger tips touching could never get better With each little breath HE fell more in love Felt there was no way we could get enough But I had said from the start I worked for this and it was hard We just can’t believe in love at first sight And I pulled away more each slight Those bruises I hid for the longest of months Can’t ever pull away when it becomes this much These slights became rage that broke glass and porcelain I couldn’t do anything under his force then Finally I told him no And with pain in his eyes he showed me how This love will be cemented Forever, in stone. Fire burns black that little white truck I lay in the bed with him, eternally stuck Forever’s a while for being dead All he wanted was thoughts of him in my head Last of my thoughts, it turned out they’d be Because me, him and fire, is all I can see Bound to his body, his truck and his heart Fire and rope and a love just so large We’re ground to ashes but our story remains He loved me so much he killed me to stay. |
