Following a girl through her tender years into adulthood... 1st Part! A work in progress
There was a girl. Let's call her May. She attended Small Town Elementary School. She was very proud and didn't talk to other students much. She simply ignored them. All the students that attended the school were required to wear uniforms. Most students found the uniforms depressing and felt that they should not be required to wear them in a public school, however, there were choices. For the bottoms that were either blue or khaki, there were school uniform pants, school uniform skirts, school uniform skorts, or school uniform shorts. For the tops that were either white or blue, there was the only "choice" Pique Polo shirts. Even though everyone wore uniforms, she stood out. Her uniform was always neatly pressed, she had a long energetic stride, her hair was done in long pigtails with Shirley Temple curls that bounced when she walked, and she had a look in her gaze that exuberated intensity. Aside from her appearance, May was the "teacher's pet" in all of her classes and made all A's on her report card.

May's classmates mixed feelings toward her. Even though May had an attitude that was seen as pompous, she would also help her classmates if they asked. Some of May's classmates were simply too intimidated to ask. Some saw her as spoiled, too opinionated, and a know-it-all nerd. Others saw her as a sweet and cute girl. Others, as you can imagine, were jealous.

To be continued... Please rate and comment and don't forget to help me with with a better intro than what I have. It seems as though something is missing at the beginning.
