My Little Angels

My Little Angels

I have my own little angels

Though their wings you cannot see

When the world is harsh and turns it’s back

They still have faith in me.

I am not judged or criticized

To them I am a queen

If the world could see me through their eyes

Then perfect I would seem.

Their halos are a slight bit crooked

And they have yet to learn to fly

But their love brings brightness to my world

When darkness fills the sky.

The joy I feel when I see their smiles

The hugs that greet me at the door

They make it all worth every struggle

They give me hope to strive for more.

I know one day I will have to let go

So I must teach them how to fly

And to never give up on chasing their dreams

To believe they can reach the sky .

I’ll do my best to prepare them

And on that day I will stand tall

But my arms will be open to catch them

If ever my angels shall fall.
