Green Girl

It hurt to open his eyes. Partly because of the blinding light overhead, but also the swollen flesh and stinging blooded surrounding them. He couldn’t move his arms or legs, straps cut off his circulation and kept him lying down.

“What the hell?” he asked the surrounding darkness. The last thing he remembered was the girl with the green hair. She followed him out of the bar after a drink or two and into an alley. Hair-dyed little goth girls were never his thing in high school, they tended to carry drama, but she was a cute little thing.

Her small fists stung and he was out quick. “This is straght up B.S. girlie. You’re into some sick sh-AAAAAARRRGGHH!” She gave the knife a shove into his shoulder and left it there.

After waves of increasingly nauseating pain, he finally pulled himself together and looked her over once again. She had tied her hair back and now looked to be in her mid-twenties, rather than only fresh out of high school. She had removed the emerald hoodie she was wearing to reveal rather muscular but still slender arms, the power behind those fists. Strapped to her hips were three more knives.

The question was right in his eyes, “Why?” but he never got to ask it. As quickly as he had seen the knives in her belt, they were in his stomach, his thigh and his chest, a stone’s throw from his heart. From underneath his deathbed she revealed a pair of goggles with bright green lenses. Strapping them to her head she laughed. As he bled all over the floor and tasted it pouring from his lips he saw a glimpse of the last hour of his life. It would be an eternity.

She laughed again.
