Nobody knows their in love until love lies.

I am not entirely sure what good things there are to life. My life is a living hell, maybe just for the time being. It was not always like this though, I had a beautiful life as a child and I would have adored it if it would have continued to be that way. But, you learn secrets and these secrets can bring a world crashing down. This letter contained all the secrets that was the beginning of my ending world. My parents sent this to me from Iceland six years ago.

"Dear Anya,
I love you much. You and your brother both and I am sorry your father and I are not there for you now. I want to lie to you but can't, we are in trouble and your old enough to understand this burden now. I'm sure your brother already knows, he is a boy after all and knowing your father, he found out way before he was 15. You’re not even supposed to know yet, you are barely 10. Anyway, you've seen things and I have tried to ignore the fact that you and your brother were born to see these things" I slammed the letter on the desk in front of me, again, I did not want to read anymore than what I knew. I did see these things, these awful things, creatures. Creatures, never supposed to be seen by the naked or human eye, things so beautiful that you can't help but to love what you see. But beauty comes with consequences that are undeniably painful and they burn. I picked up the letter that my hands knew all too well and continued with my reading. Like my hands, my eyes knew this letter too well, I read over it a thousand times seems like before. Yet known of it can bring my father and mother back to me,

" I'm sorry but baby girl this is hard, I know this will be hard for you to even except if you don't already do so. But you have the Gift. I have it, your father has it, your brother has it and I'm sorry I have not told the truth behind it but, we are in trouble and it is best you and your brother leave and go to John's before something horrible happens to you and Aden. People, creatures are after you and your brother. I-I have to go now."

Tear marks stained the page where she stopped writing; my father's handwriting was swift and intricate and took the place of hers. Just glancing at his thin writing made the tears swell in my eyes and my breathing more of a struggle.

"Sweetheart Anastasia, we love you and your brother, ever so dearly. This you must know and believe is true, because, what is about to happen will not be light on you both. Aden has known about this, the Gift that is, since he was 6 and has been in training since then, I'm sorry love, your mother did wish to tell you then but you were only 3 and I'm sure you enjoyed what you could see. As for now I'm not sure what you think any more, about the Gift or even us, your parents. Your brother will start to teach you everything you need to know, all the fighting skills, everything! As for now darling, we send our love and best wishes, and hell everything else to help you along this dusty journey as a young Darkseer. See you later."

I only wish we were actually in trouble, in pain staking trouble and regretting ever hesitating mother and father's strict and urgent orders,

"Anya and Aden! Come one now, you both'll be late for the first day and that is unacceptable coming the children of my sister. Let's hurry now; I don't want to be late to my first class this semester." I hastily grabbed my purse and a banana then hurried out of the door behind Aden, Uncle John trudging behind us both.

I stepped out of the car, mouth agape. The campus was tremendous. A grand fountain sat at the very center of the campus, a wide circular bed of flowers, pink, white, red, and yellow. The grass was the most vibrant of greens, shining like polished emeralds. People roamed the campus at the moment, on wide stone paths carved to fit the curvature of the magnificent school. I swelled over with joy, thinking first that John was taking us to another gray and dead campus like the public school we just unenrolled from,

"Uncle John, what the hell? I'm so shocked...it's beautiful." I gawked at the campus once more then looked at my uncle, who said nothing, just admired the view. A startling bell woke me up from my daze and sent me into a fit of enthusiasm. Uncle gave Aden and I our schedules and left to teach his senior class in the every confusing subject of pre- calculus. I turned once to look at Aden, who was already getting lustrous looks from the girls walking by,
“Aden, see you later." I left my brother starring after the girls. I soon wandered into the main building, looking down to my list. My first class was English Literature, my favorite subject. The pink paper read, room 132, hall J. I looked down the hallway to see more beauty. The corridors had massive arches made of what smelled of oak, dark tiles lined the floors until I could see no more. In great plaques the letter of the hall was engraved, the first of which read A. I turned to the woman glaring at me over the paper she held in her bony hands,
“Ma'am, where is J hall located?" She placed the paper neatly down and looked me up and down, she stood up, she was nearly six feet tall in her heels, and she towered above me as she walked me to J hall.

"So um, Miss..."

"Oh, I apologize. I am Anastasia Rowade; my uncle is a teacher here for the senior class and has just enrolled us for the new school year." She nodded as we progressed our way down the long grand hall.

"Aw, Mr. Keiths, a charming young man. He is an excellent teacher and I am excepting as much from his niece." She looked down at me and winked. She was a pretty woman, blond hair with a flawless face and pink full lips. I felt she had a small crush on my uncle, blood rushing to my face for even thinking such a thing on my first day. My head panged and a pain beat the inside of my head like a hammer hitting a nail. The feeling was so sudden I only waved it away, it was probably a migraine. Her eyes flashed and turned a dark fuchsia, she blinked away pink glitter, which fell from her eyes. I caught a motion out of the corner of my eye; she had wings, beautiful silver pixie wings that fluttered as she walked. I stopped and sucked in as much air as my lungs could hold,

"Ma'am, y-your wings. You have w-wings!" I backed up into a cold wall, putting as much space between me and the woman with wings. It was too much for me to bear, but something deep inside said it was not that simple. She smiled and I was breathless, it was a dazzling smile that almost nobody could resist. Then as if the world fell from under my feet I was on the ground, my vision blurry and false. I thought people were surrounding me and I reassured myself it was my imagination. My vision finally cleared and then did I realize I was not imagining these things, there were people surrounding me, guys. Out of all the eyes starring at me one pair caught my attention, they were on fire seemed like, but they were blue, sapphire blue. The pain inside my head brought me out of my trance; I seized the side if the wall in pain, the throbbing so intense I could hardly keep my eyes open.

"Hey, I think she may faint again." A guy in the circle exclaimed. It was the fiery eyed boy, his entire body seemed to be on fire, I thought as he walked forward to me. His hair was the color of copper and his eyes the color of sapphires, the skin on his checks flushed and I was wondering what from. Perhaps it was the heat or the situation, I did not stay away long enough to ask.
