This poem is about how we have to be careful with technology and communication |
Enough, no Contentment, so-so Necessity the means for invention, somewhat Improvement the means, a more likely culprit Contentment depends upon enough, wisdom to rest and be satisfied Desire for more is not easily satiated, as credit over-allows and payback then has your hands tied Not only financial, if you consider Instant communications email, Facebook, Twitter Life lived electronically has benefit, yes Yet limitless time spent online, welcome to communications credit Somewhere in the equation, the reality got lost That we actually have to work, not just instantly and always talk While the hours in the day – and my physical need for rest – never changed I’m now ever-available, the messages simply await my exchange I can fill up my life with more and more, yes Contentment, enough, would put a halt to this crazy good mess But with all the fake-energy products available to me, I can keep living the “improved life” limitlessly – or, really? Uncontrolled desire for more may seem quite free Until the bill comes, then I see Me, the casualty. |
