A poem about how husbands and wives don't always view home improvement in the same way. |
The Project She said I would sure like to turn that little bedroom into an office He said That would be nice Let’s go to the hardware store She said I’ll make a list of what we need He said I’ll need a new cordless drill And maybe a table saw In her mind she saw Peaceful blues and greens with a shelf for plants And a small nook for reading In his mind he saw A new computer system And a shelf for the multimedia center She said Won’t this be fun – working together? He said You’ll need to move to the other side of the room so I can measure for the speakers He knew they could have the whole project completed in two days If they just concentrated their efforts And painted everything white She knew that it would take at least two days for the paint to dry So that they could put the faux finish on the second coat And hang the wallpaper border She thought this would be a great opportunity For them to talk about plans for the future He thought that this would be a great opportunity To watch the Rams play the 49ers She thought she would help build the shelves He thought she would make some sandwiches Because his brother-in-law was coming over to help build the shelves She thought she would go and visit her mother He thought that was a good idea |
