A story of independent security technology partner and the problems of keeping people safe
Pungent sludge is everywhere in the mist filled pit, stumbling around up to knees. The SafeCon security patrol inside the abandoned building not to far off are checking for system parasites and the wind is picking up speed. Crawling his way up to the pits ledge Aaron wonders why people in need of resources slog through dump sites. Protected class citizens knocked unconscious are usually taken to bio-dump pool after there smart gear and sub dermal implants are cloned.

Aaron wasn't worried about resource loss or I.D. theft, the setup was to track down all info on the crimes and organizers. He volunteered to take a pseudonym and clean history in exchange for the best anyone could get. All he had to do was use his biowetware and follow as unseen as possible.

The retches that dropped him in the pit, mostly stimaddicts and techburners like many roaming scavengers, the collapse created alot of people that lost everything and stopped trying to get anything back.

The system is far more worse now than at first, Aaron knew how it worked and he was going to get out as fast as possible. They lead him to a security dead zone near the abandon overhead highway ramp. He hid among the burnt out and dearticulated car'shells watching as a mystery figure approach thieves.

The grimy leader among the thieves, anxious and pacing inconsistent wouldn't look at the person he was talking to directly. Aaron couldn't guess why, the cloak the figure wore completely enshrouded any features even gender, it all looked like a trap waiting to be sprung. The odd sparks and weird visual distortions made him paranoid in this lawless purgatory.

The distorted voice from the cloak, a growling bass, was insulting the thieves for not making sure Aaron was dead.
