Trail of Souls

Take only one step,
And you will know,
The complete depth,
Of where you must go.

No longer may you stray,
Too far from your path,
By the end of the day,
You will face its wrath.

Take this journey alone,
Or you will be weighed down,
By the journey of their own;
Heavy like a gold crown.

This is the path of all souls,
And only the strongest pass,
The drops and hidden holes;
As deadly as a toxic gas.

It matters not how long,
But how strong the heart,
Because a peaceful song,
Is stronger than a dart.

It may confuse your simple mind,
That a dart could be of no use,
But the evil are weaker than the kind,
And so now you must choose.

Which weapon do you want?
One that kills, or one that fights,
Because the souls might haunt,
Until you no longer see the lights.

Take your time on this trip,
Or you may lose the fight,
Because a little bit of a rip,
Is better than losing your sight.

Focus is the master key,
Never let your mind stray,
Or you will no longer see,
Which direction is the way.

I have no more advice for you,
Except to keep you head high,
For no matter what you do,
You mustn't let your soul die.
