V.E.Y.O.U
Only in art,
Will the lion lie down with the lamb,
And only in your heart,
Will I be willing to win a poetry slam.

This feeling is too hard to overcome,
As much as it is too hard to let go,
This is my only chance to prove,
The definition of this feeling is love.

Is it just a word, a verb, an adjective or an ad-verb?
A game, a joke, a lie or a name. (That sounds lame)
But if it’s only a word, then why is it so unique?
Why does it make your lips tremble?
When you’re about to express it,
During that special moment of bliss,
Either by words,
Or with a special kiss.
This is something that I know, not something that I heard,
Love is not just a word.

My heart is beating 10 times faster u don’t wanna come near,
I can’t feel my feet as I stand here,
Not because I got ran over by a reindeer,
But because every single line of this poem, is swimming out from the river of love,
That flows within the depths of my heart.

If love is not only a word, then is it a verb?
If it is a verb, then why doesn’t the actions,
That we undertake to express our love as a result of our attractions, affection, additions not subtractions, depict
Our love for one another.
If not in full, why not just a fraction of what we feel cause an impact on the one we love to give us a positive reaction for our hearts satisfaction.
Actions do heal like herbs,
But love is not just a verb.

If love is not a verb, does it make it an adjective?
I mean it makes sense to say right now,
To say that love qualifies a person just as an adjective qualifies a noun.
But is it just about qualification and modification when the one you love refuses to acknowledge your
Qualities but pays for attention to your flaws and challenges?
No one is perfect. An adjective does qualify a noun but are not always qualified to qualify a noun like ugly in the sentence ‘that ugly dog ran away’.
I’m pretty sure the feeling of the dog towards the adjective ugly being used to qualify him is negative.
Obviously love is not only an adjective.

If it is not just a word, a verb or an adjective, does it make it a game?
A game that most people play to rise to fame or a game that everybody plays to lose—when you make a wrong move.
Who would want to lose his son for a game?
Who would want to die for a game?
Who would want to spend a lifetime with a –GAME??
Love can never be a game, ‘cos when you’re in love, everybody is a winner. Winning is the only option and happiness is the same.
Love is definitely more than a game.

It is more than we can think of.
It is more than I can say,
It is more than the most expensive price money can pay,
Love is like a seed, it grows by the day.

As I sat in the couch,
Thinking about her,
That light bulb hit me, ouch!
Is it true when I say I care?

You know it is true, when you still see her in the dark,
When her smile makes you blush,
Even though you are black,
You know it is true, ready to bet your last dollar,
When you go shopping and along the way,
All the shirts you are attracted to are those of her favorite color,

You know it is true, when you always,
Meet her coincidentally in the hallways,
After something whispered you might,
And that something always seems to be right.
I know it is true ‘cos I get the chills every time you say hello,
Even when I didn’t really know you,

I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT I L - O,
