A haunting poem; make what you want out of it.
Another day, another night,

Another cry, another fight

One last breath, one more scream

A forgotten soul buried in shame

Her desperate cry, his angry shove

His guttural growl, as she silently sobs

His painful grasp, too tight, too strong

Stay quiet, she wills, biting her tongue

Her wasted youth; the fucked up truth

‘Just another missing, just another lost’

A blind society, so deep in denial

To the pain and suffering of that innocent child

Alone in her mind, when he has his way

She wonders if she’ll see the day

A beautiful memory that takes her away;

Sun, sea and flowers, the perfect escape

Hope is destroyed, when he lands the blow

Shattered bone, severed dream

A devastating, disembodied scream

She curls up tight, ignoring the pain.

She waits for it to begin all over again.
