This is a poem about getting over a relationship and time eventually healing everything.
Before you left me,

You were all I knew,

Your face imprinted in my mind,

Your taste warm in my mouth,

Your touch vibrating my soul.

When you suddenly departed,

I was racked with pain,

I unconsciously regurgitated your words,

And cried myself to sleep.

As the sands of time slowly trickle down,

Everything is changing,

My memories eroding,

And you haunt me no more.

Now I stay awake trying to remember,

I rack my mind for your mental picture,

Search my heart for traces of emotion,

Think of who you used to be.

Slowly you're slipping away, fading into oblivion,

Until there is nothing left to regret,

Soon you will completely disappear,

Leaving behind you only the scar of what had been.
