Raina didn't know the family secret.......... until it was too late that is. |
My head hurt. I felt groggy. "This must be the worst hangover, ever!" I thought to myself.1 I moaned and tried to open my eyes. "Wait this isn't my ceiling!"2 I quickly sat up, which was a mistake, as a sharp pain blasted through my head. I decided to take things more slowly.3 I looked down and saw that I was in my pajamas. They were drenched, and so was my hair, in cold sweat. I sat there shivering, as my pajamas were really thin, and there was no blanket on the hard rough bed I was placed on.4 I looked round the grey brick room which I had never seen before. It was the most depressing room I had ever been in. There were no lights, but a small window, about as thick as my arm, was set high in the wall near the ceiling. But even that didn't shed much, seeing as it was night time.5 The walls looked like they were sweating. But was most likely to be covered in damp and rain water. Water was leaking in from somewhere as I could here a consistent dripping noise.6 I got up and tried to find some way to escape. The room was square, and I ran my hands over every in I could reach. There was no way out. I took my hands off the wall, and they were covered in slime, which I wiped on the bed.7 I was so scared. I couldn't even remember how I got here. There must be someway out, because there was definitely a way in.8 Then i remembered seeing something when I was laying down. There it was. A trap door in the ceiling. 9 I had to try and get up there. The room wasn't that tall, but I still couldn't reach it. I looked at the bed. If I stood on it, I'd be tall enough to reach the door. It wasn't fixed to the floor or wall, so I pulled it, trying not to make too much noise, to the center of the room.10 When I looked back to where the bed had been, I felt the blood drain from my face. That was exactly what was there on the floor. Blood, and lots of it. Dried and congealing."I have to get out of here." I thought to myself.11 I stood on the bed and pressed my ear up against the door, to see if I could hear anyone out there. I could hear two hushed voices. Men.12 "See. I said last night would be the perfect time to grab her. Her grandmas old as dirt, and looks as though she died naturally."13 "Yeah, your right. Good call by the way. Who'd have thought she'd lock herself in. After all that worry of her trying to make a run for it." The two men chuckled, and the memories of last night came flooding back. |
