Down go the bastions
The parapets and battlements
Stone, tile and mortar
And with it our innocence

"My many years have seen these walls
Rise up and stand and now they fall"
"This place is all I've ever known
My childhood's here and here I've grown"

The gates have fallen in the siege
Our guards have been struck down
Our lord is trapped within the keep
As the keep burns to the ground

The enemy shouts in triumph
They love a quick, clean fight
But lost, forsaken and alone
We must wander through the night

In the morning all we saw
When we returned to look around
Were the ashes and the ghosts
Of our former castle town
