Elena's mother got murdered, she learns shes not human, what is she going to do? |
Chapter one Elena “Elena, Elena, wake up, I swear you can sleep through a freaking hurricane.” A familiar voice said, I groaned and pulled the covers over my head but they were quickly yanked off the bed. “What?” I mumbled blinking my eyes open, seeing that it was my mom and twin sister, Trinity I sat up. “There’s people outside, I keep hearing them mumble, and ‘They are the damned ones.’ And, ‘They are not god’s people’, and ‘they deserve to die.’ What’s that supposed to mean?” She asked anger flaring in her eyes. I looked out my window, and as she said there were people out there. “Oh god,” I muttered, shaking my head. “Okay, lets get down to the kitchen. Under the cabinet all the way to the back left corner, there’s another door. It leads to an underground fully armed room; everything you need is down there, in another hidden door. But we must at least get to the cabinet and get underground as fast as you can.” Mom said, as if planning the whole thing out in her head. “Come this way,” She said, Just as they began trying to break open the front door. She waved her hand in front of the wall in the hallway, and as if it was always there, a door appeared, a freaking door, dead serious. “What the?” I muttered, and looked over at Trinity, who shrugged, looking as confused as I am. I shook my head and crawled into the tight space, which turned out to be a small elevator enough to fit maybe three or four people. “Cramped much?” I said, Trinity nodded in agreement, mom began pulling the ropes that pulled the elevator down. “Classic,” Trinity said smiling, I chuckled trying to situate my arm so it wasn’t touching Trinity’s butt as much. I sighed in defeat knowing my arm was stuck there. “Okay, we are in the kitchen.” Mom said and pulled open the small doors, and as she said we stepped out into the kitchen. “Quickly, get in the cabinet, toward the back left you will see the door, the handle is a big diamond. Hurry.” She whispered as the people finally got the door open. I gasped and followed Trinity under the cabinet. I looked back to see that mom wasn’t there, and heard shouting in the kitchen. “Please don’t kill me.” She whimpered, and I heard people yelling stuff that sounded like it was from the bible, then an ear splitting scream cut through the air. “Mom?” I whispered, tears trickling down my cheeks. I looked out the cracks in the cabinet, not breathing. “There are no other people here. The other two have fled, we must find them immediately.” A deep scaly voice said, disappointment flowing through their voices as they fled, I crawled out of the cabinet. I looked down to see the decapitated body of my mother in a pool of blood. Trinity gasped and looked away, “We need to get to that room, she said there was another hidden door, and she said everything we need is down there.” Trinity said in a hoarse voice. I nodded numbly and followed her to the door with the diamond handle. We fell into a slide type thing, and into a room, with, (lord forgive me) every fucking weapon you imagine. And oh my god, if it weren’t for trinity right here, I would go hunt down those heartless killers, and blow their heads off with the big shiny shot gun in the corner. My hands fidgeted at my hips, I’m bout’ to explode with all this anger flowing through my body. Why did they kill mom? What did they mean when they said we weren’t god’s people. Why us, so many questions with not one answer. I looked around and something in the far corner of the room caught my eye, there seemed to be a latch in the wall. I walked over to it, and removed the guns that blocked it. “Trinity, come here.” I said, adrenalin flowing through my veins. “What is that a door or something? Do you think that’s the hidden door mom was talking about?” She asked grief flashing through her eyes. I smiled sadly at her. “Don’t know till’ we find out, eh?” I said studying the odd door. “Well you know what they say: Curiosity killed the cat, or in this case two desperate twins.” She said scoffing. “Yeah this is true.” I mumbled jiggling the door handle. But it was locked, and there was no keyhole, how odd. “God dang! Open will you? This is not the time for freaking doors to not open on me now.” I practically yelled. Then it sort of clicked and the door popped open, I shrugged and looked at Trinity. “That works too.” I said and nodded. I crawled through the tight space, Trinity right behind me. We soon came to another door it opened with ease. I stepped down from the tunnel/secret passage and my eyes widened, “What the heck?” I muttered looking at Trinity who looks like she’s about to pass out. “What is all this?” She asked, I shrugged the room was full of what looked like runes painted on the walls, a faded circle with a opening at one end in the middle of the floor, herbs, big leather bound books, and other books on Wicca and witchcraft. Oddly I was intrigued to read some of these. “Who in our family is into witchcraft?” I asked to nobody in particular. I looked at different crystals in glass jars, statues of what looked like goddesses, dragons, fairies, and Greek gods. “Hmm,” I muttered frowning. “Uh, Elena, I think you should come here.” Trinity said a slight fear in her voice. I hurried over to find her standing in front of a podium with a big open book with what looks like handwriting. My handwriting, or Trinity’s, I closed the book and read the cover. Esther Layne Lockwicks book of shadows, it read I shook my head. “What, who is that? Why does that name sound so familiar?” I asked and flipped to the first page. “I’m going to read some of it, okay?” I asked looking at Trinity, she nodded and I began reading. “I have daughters, two of them they are twins and yet to be born. I cannot wait, but how I wish Seymour were here to meet them when they are born. I am supposed to go to the hospital in an hour so I will soon write later. My beloved daughters are about to be born. E.L My daughters are in danger. They are back and trying to take my daughters’ and I away. Ashlee is here with me and I told her if anything happens to me for her to raise my daughters, and have them think she is their mother. Ashlee is not a witch or immortal, she’s just a very close friend, whom I cant live without. I remember when I told her I was immortal. Her exact words were “you’re a vampire?” I laughed, there’s no such thing as vampires. That I know of, there’s werewolves and the Fae people that I know of, and Fae's are not small they are regular sized people who have natural magick. Almost as much as a witch. My daughters, Trinity and Elena are their names, its funny they look exactly alike except Trinity has platinum hair and Elena has black hair. Tricks of magick I suppose, they will not grow up in the environment of magick, not until they have reached the age of sixteen of course. I will leave it to Ashlee to take them down in to my sacred place, and tell them what they are. Immortal and witches, it runs in our blood, we have lived in the society of humans, since the beginning of time. There are millions of us, but the human population is growing steadily. I wonder if I die, and they soon realize that they are not human, will they blame Ashlee for that? I sure hope not, by the time they reach sixteen, their powers will develop and they will stop aging. I hope I get to see their faces. E.L Oh no, they are down here and have found my children. I know what I have to do. Hopefully they will find me one day. Good bye my children, even though we just met, I will never forget you. E.L I took a deep breath and looked at Trinity. “What do you think?” I asked searching her face She shook here head in confusement, “We’re immortal? We’re witches? Is that stuff even real? I mean this would be any Goths dream, but it’s so hard to take in.” She said putting her hand to her forehead, yeah we’re Goth we’re just interested in the clothes, so we began to wear them. “She said we could heal instantly right?” I asked and she nodded. “Well there’s only one way to find out. I said and pulled a knife from my snow boot. Okay here goes nothing, I thought and slashed the knife along my arm. And as the book said, it healed right up. “Whoa,” I said looking at my arm. “Did you see that?” I asked wide-eyed She nodded speechless, “That, was unreal.” She said and began pacing, “This cant be real, it has to be a dream. It has to, this is not possible, and it just doesn’t make any sense!” She groaned I looked around the room studying it; I think it’s kind of cool. I thought glancing at my arm to see if a scar will pop up. “I think this could be a new step in our life Trinity, to avenge Ashlee’s death, and find our real mother. Speaking of our mother we need to do something with… with the um body in the uh kitchen.” I whispered feeling like I’m going to puke. Trinity nodded and we headed back to the kitchen. I crawled out of the cabinet making sure Trinity is behind me. I stood up and popped my neck, and looked around the bar, to find no body. “Uh Trinity? There’s know body here, or any blood. Like theirs nothing there, this would not pass for a crime scene at all.” I said and Trinity ran up beside me, a look of sheer terror on her face. “Oh my god, have vampires came in here and ate the body and drank the blood?” She whispered and I looked at her wide-eyed, Can that be true? I thought spacing out. “No, there are know such things as vampires, sorry, it’s just us.” A voice said from behind, I jumped and pulled a knife of the counter and pushed him down the knife at his throat. “Who are you and what the hell do you think your doing?” I growled, and the man who appeared to look the same age as us. Swiped the knife away and flipped me over to where he was over me. He chuckled, “I am like you, immortal and a witch. There is nothing to be afraid of, or to kill over.” He said, I struggled to get out from under him, but I failed. “I’m not scared of you, and if you don’t get the fuck off of me I will kick you in your god damn nuts!” I yelled looking him square in the eyes. He jumped off of me in a cat like grace, holding up his hands in surrender. I looked over to find Trinity, and a guy; with shaggy blond hair beside Trinity both of their mouths curled trying not to laugh. “Now, what the hell are you doing here? And where the hell is the dead body of my mother who isn’t really my mother that I just found out?” I said anger boiling in the pit stomach. “Wait, just calm down.” He said I looked at him closely, he wasn’t bad looking matter of fact he was gorgeous. He had medium length straight black hair that was in layers, ice blue eyes and he was wearing black skinny jeans, converse, and a avenged sevenfold shirt. I shook my head trying not to get distracted. “Okay then, what’s your excuse?” I asked hands on my hips. “Like I said, I’m like you and immortal and a witch. My name is Ash and that over there is Eli. We sensed a werewolf in the area and-“ He started saying but I cut him off. “Wait, She’s not a werewolf, she’s human.” I said eyebrows scrunched together. Ash laughed shaking his head. “No, she’s a werewolf, as I was saying we sensed a dead werewolf in the area and most people like us can use a spell to make them turn to ash, or just vanish. So Eli and I thought you might like to keep her ashes so here you go.” He said and waved his hands in front of him and a wooden box with crescent moons and vines carved into them, just appeared in front of me just floating? I reached out and grabbed the ashes. Hugging them to my chest. “Um thank you. Sorry about um almost slicing your throat back there.” I said smiling sheepishly. I walked to the living room and set the ashes on top of the bookshelf. Aware of Ash behind me, I turned around smiling sadly, “Thanks again.” I said wiping at my eyes. “No problem, you just found out what you are didn’t you?” He asked I nodded numbly. “Well, how would you like it if Eli and I to help you control your powers or just at least find out what they are.” He offered and I felt my eyes widen. “Oh um okay that sounds fun.” I said just as someone broke out the living room windows. “What the?” I said as these old and young looking people jumped in. they ran and punched me in the face and started attacking the others. I touched my face anger flowing through my body. They knocked over the bookshelf with held the ashes of my ‘mother’, which set me off, I felt my hair start to rise and I just burst into flames. Literally. I felt my eyes flash red and everyone in the room stopped fighting looking at me with fear on their faces well except for Ash, he looked amused. I didn’t feel anything, not one thing at all. People started screaming stuff at me and holding crosses out at me I snickered and threw my hands out in front of me. They all burned to nothing but ash –no pun intended-. I turned around facing Ash. “Uh, how do I make the fire go away?” I asked and he snickered, and waved his hands in front of me. I blinked and fainted. It felt like I was falling I screamed then realized it was a dream. An Alice in wonderland dream –how corny-, I have these types of dreams a lot. I hit the ground startled at what I saw, I was in this creepy forest type thing and blood was on my dress. I then realized that I was in the scary wonderland- you wouldn’t understand if you’ve never played the gory scary version of the Alice In Wonderland game-. I stood up dusting off my dress, there was a butcher knife beside me and I picked it up, unsure what to do, it was just like the game, that ive played so many times and beat on every level. But it was just blank to me. I couldn’t remember what to do. I thought about Cheshire and he appeared in front of me. “What am I supposed to do?” I asked the cat smiled all his teeth showing his earring shining in the non-existing light. “I don’t know, you must figure this one out on your own Elena.” He purred the disappeared with the non-exciting wind. I sighed and started walking, then ran across one of the Queen Of Hearts warriors. I gasped and hid behind a plant. He stood there guarding what looked like a green swirling portal. I took a deep breath, “Ok Elena, you can do this just stab him, ignore the big pointy sword in his hand. Curse my overactive imagination.” I muttered and creped out of the bushes, the guard turned around looking at me and started to run at me. I gasped and jumped around him. I kicked the back of his legs and he fell forward. “What then bitch!” I yelled stabbing him. He stopped moving and a deck of cards hovered over him. I grabbed them examining what they looked like. “Their called fifty-two pick up. You throw them at the enemy and it cuts them, and can kill them. But be careful, you can’t use them all the time.” Cheshire said from behind me, I started to say something but he flicked his tail at me and I fell through the portal. It was exhilarating, but I screamed my head off clutching the knife and cards in my hand. “Elena, Elena, can you hear me? Elena wake up.” A distant voice said I groaned and opened my eyes, seeing Trinity, Eli, and Ash sitting beside me. “What happened?” I mumbled rubbing at my throbbing head. “Well to sum it all up, you burst into flames, killed the demons, and passed out.” Eli said and they nodded. I sat up, finding my self in a bed that wasn’t mine. They pushed me back down. “Whoa, you don’t need to get up right now.” Ash said, I sighed. “Okay, then at least tell me where I am.” I said shivering slightly. “My house, in my room. There are 2 other people living here besides Eli and I, Jessica and Erick. That’s basically our family. Were in a mansion with like ten rooms and only four people.” He said and I looked at him funny. “But, why did you bring me here?” I asked and he took a deep breath. “Uh well while you were passed our from exhaustion, we thought it be best if we brought you here, and we were all talking and thought it would also be best, if you moved in here with us, we have like six extra rooms and you have no where to go. Trinity already agreed to it, and we can move all of your stuff for you. But we have more protection here. And its right down the street from your house so you can go there when you like.” He said and I rubbed my forehead. “Wait so we can move in here? Is this because of the people trying to kill us and why did you call them demons?” I asked looking at him like he was crazy. “We will explain all this later just sleep for now.” He said and waved his hand over me. And I slept. I was dreaming again. But it was I left off last time: Falling through the portal. I didn’t scream, mainly because I saw it coming. I fell into a building; it looked like a giant library. I stood up and dusted my self off, I saw a little guy standing by a bookshelf. “Um excuse me, am I in the school?” I asked looking at the thing on his back. He looked miserable. “Yes why yes you are. You must be careful, there are eleven guards here. This might help with your journey. You are the key to wonderland. Good luck Elena.” He said and handed me out the thing that freezes stuff. I bid my thanks and continued exploring. I gasped in pain as something stabbed my back. “What the hell?” I screamed and turned around. It was a guard; I snickered, and held out the stick and froze him. “Put that in your pipe and smoke it!” I said and then took my knife and cut of his head. “Okay there should be like ten guards left.” I muttered and walked down the aisles. I was woken up by loud thunder. I looked up to see Ash beside me his arm draped over me. I sighed, “Damn it.” I muttered, what was he doing in here? I sighed and tried to wiggle free of his arm but his grip tighten and he pulled me closer to him. “Ash, Ash wake up.” I whispered he sighed and looked at me tiredly. “What?” He mumbled I looked at his arm that was hugging me to him. “Can you let go so I can get up?” I asked chuckling. He sighed and removed his arm. “Sorry, didn’t know I did that.” He said smiling; I sat up brushing my long hair out of my face. I put my face in my hands stifling a yawn. “ Damn, I’m tired.” I said, and he chuckled. “Then go back to bed.” He said, I sighed, and lay back down. “Your like the human pillow I never had.” He said and pulled me close to him again. “Really Ash?” I said looking at him. He laughed smiling his teeth gleaming in the dark. Thank god for the black curtains. “What? Your warm, and if you haven’t noticed its like a ice box in here.” he said and I laughed. “Night.” He mumbled and I closed my eyes and soon drifted back to sleep. I didn’t dream. Not at all thank god. I snuggled closer to the warm thing beside me. I heard it chuckle. “No, no, Elena, its time to get up its like twelve in the afternoon, I know I warm in all.” He said and I soon realized it was Ash. “Come on get up.” He said and sighed, “Why are you such a hard sleeper?” He asked and picked me up in his arms. I yawned I lifted my head up. “What are you doing?” I mumbled seeing him standing in the middle of the room. “Well I was about to make you get up but, seeing as you’re already awake…” He said and set me down on the floor. “Ugh, I need a shower and wash my face.” I said rubbing my eyes. He nodded and took me to a room down the hall. “This is your room.” He said and opened the door. I gasped and looked around, it looked just like my room at my old house. Every detail was right, all my band posters and drawings were on the wall, and my bed was there, everything was right. There was even a bathroom! I turned around and hugged him. Even though he was like eight inches taller than me. “Thank you so much, how did you do this?” I asked pulling back blushing slightly. He laughed, “I’m a witch remember?” He said walking out of my room, but stopped at my door. “Your on the fifth floor. We are the only two people on this floor, mainly because this floor has only two bedrooms and the rest is the library and game room.” He said and walked on. I smiled and went to my dresser, grabbed my clothes, and took a shower. I ringed my head out of the towel trying not to get my misfits tank top wet. I was wearing my black skinny jeans, and purple converse. I sat down at my vanity, frowning at my wet hair. “Hmm maybe a can dry you with a spell or something.” I muttered giggling. I waved my hands over my head, not really meaning anything. And then it was just… dry. I gasped, and then smiled widely. “Okay how bout a read streak?” I said chuckling. I once again waved my hand over my head and then just as I predicted a red streak appeared over my layered black hair. I got up and walked out of my room. “ How bout I explore for a while? Nobody will miss me.” I said and opened a door that I’m guessing was to the library. I felt my eyes widen, there was bookshelves among bookshelf among bookshelf and they went to the ceilings. The room was shaped as a circle, and there was a big ladder that was connected to the ceiling. I’m guessing it rolled from bookshelf to bookshelf to get the non-reachable books. I skimmed the covers of the books and a big sliver book at the far corner of the room on the top of the bookshelf caught my eye, I ran to the ladder and climbed to the top. I started to pick up the book but a latch in the wall caught my eye. I climbed on top of the shelf, looking down from the edge; it was a long way down. I took the latch in my hand and pulled, it opened with ease. It was like a giant slide I shrugged and slid down. It was dark through the whole thing but I slid into a room that was lit with torches. It was like my mothers room just like it really. I gasped and looked around, it was actually really pretty; I looked at the chalk drawn circle in the middle of the room smiling. “So I see you found my secret hide out.” A voice said behind me, I gasped and turned around. It was Ash, his hands in his pockets. “Oh I'm sorry, I was just curious there was this book in the library and-“ I started to say but he cut me off by laughing, I looked at him my head tilted toward the side. “Its fine, don’t have a cow.” He said and I crossed my arms over my chest. “I wasn’t.” I mumbled looking away, which resulted in him laughing harder. I turned around and looked at all the crystals in the glass case. “You want to learn a couple cool spells.” He said from behind me I turned around ready to smack him, but he was… floating? “Um, your floating dude.” I said pointing at him, he laughed and floated down to the ground. “Yeah, I was aware, that’s a basic spell, here this is what you do. Just imagine you’re self-floating. But you have to close you eyes.” He said and I nodded. Okay imagine your self floating Elena. It’s not that hard. I thought and felt my self rise off the ground. I opened my eyes smiling, “ Oh my god, I did it Ash!” I said smiling. He floated up beside me. “Awesome, but that was simple, okay try to make your self burst into flames again but try to control them.” He said and I nodded imagining my self bursting into flames. I felt the flames appear around me and I opened my eyes. “Okay now try to make the flames only come out of one hand.” He said and I did. He clapped, “Okay now make them go away.” He said smiling. “ You may leave, fire, thank you.” I whispered, still floating. I floated back down to the ground, “Wow your natural at learning spells, Elena.” He said I hugged him, smiling brightly. “Thank you so much Ash!” I said and he hugged me back. I stepped back pulling down my tousled shirt. –secretly hoping he didn’t see that- “Any time, well since you are now the only person that knows about this place, I guess your welcome to come down here any time you like. You can learn a lot from the books in here.” He said and walked to a door in the room. “How are we going to get out of here?” I asked and he opened the door, which held an elevator. “Oh okay that works.” I mumbled walking in the elevator. We walked into the kitchen, seeing everybody in there. “Hey guys, sorry we took so long, I was giving Elena a tour of the place.” Ash said and I waved awkwardly at the redheaded girl with short hair standing beside the tall guy with shaggy brown hair. I’m guessing its Jessica and Erick. “Hey guys, I’m Elena.” I said quietly. Jessica bounced up, “Hey, I’m Jessica, but I go by Jess.” She said and she had a bit of a country accent. She walked back over to Erick and took his hand. “Hey, I’m Erick.” He mumbled not meeting my eyes. “He’s a bit shy.” Ash whispered, and I giggled, and walked over to Trinity. “Hey.” I said and she hugged me “You okay?” I asked hugging her back. She nodded and pulled me to her room, which was on the third floor. As I expected it was just like her old room. She pulled me over to her bed. “What a day.” She said and I laughed “Yeah, its been a hard couple of days too, it was nice of them to lets us move in here, we had absolutely know where else to go.” I said facing her smiling sadly. She sighed tears rolling down her cheeks I wiped them away with my finger. “It just fucking sucks. I don’t even know what to think. Before yester day I didn’t know witches immortals god knows what else existed, and can you believe our birth days our tomorrow? We are going to be 16 dude. This is to much to take in.” She said now pacing. I looked at her funny, and then smiled. “Look what I can do.” I said and started floating, I spun around laughing. “Cool huh?” I asked floating back down. Her face was shocked. “Oh my god! How did you do that?” She asked smiling broadly, “Okay, concentrate on floating, just imagine your self floating.” I said and she closed her eyes, and began to float, I floated up beside her. “You did it!” I said hugging her, She looked down. “I did! This is so freaking cool!” She said doing a mini dance, I threw my head back and laughed. “And look at this.” I said making fire appear out of my left hand I threw it from hand to hand like a regular ball. “Okay you have to teach me that.” She said looking at me seriously. “Okay but first try to figure it out on your own.” I said smiling, “I’ve got things to do.” I floating to her door, I looked up the spiral staircase. “ Looks like I’m going to float.” I mumbled floating to the fifth floor, I stopped in front of Ash’s door, and knocked. Pretty sure he wouldn’t here me over his booming music though. To my surprise he opened the door. “Hey, come on in.” He said and I floated down to the ground and walked in. He paused the music. “You okay?” he asked and I nodded and plopped down on his bed. Letting the fluffy pillows and soft bed envelope me. “I just love this bed.” I said smiling, he lay down beside me. “And I’m bored as hell. These past couple of days have been really hard, Ash.” I mumbled, avoiding his eyes, distracting my self with the drawings on his walls. “ One minute my life is great I think I’m a perfectly normal fifteen year old, who was preparing for her birthday –which is tomorrow- and now look at me, I just lost my mother who turned out not to be my mother, I’m a witch, I’m immortal, there’s a chance my real mother is alive, there’s people trying to kill me, I burst into flames when I am pissed off. What am I going to do?” I said covering my face with my hands. He grabbed my wrists and removed them from my face, I was slightly crying now. He brushed my tears away with his thumbs. He looked at the door and traced stuff into the air, the door shimmered and clicked. “There’s no door there to everybody else in the house. So they wont eavesdrop.” He said and pulled me over to him, I rested my head on his shoulder. “ Your birthday is tomorrow?” He asked, I nodded, and he didn’t say anything else about it. “When one door closes another one opens.” He murmured stroking my black hair. I sniffed and rested my arm on his other shoulder. “I want to thank you again so much for letting me move in with you. It means so much.” I whispered into his shoulder. He smiled, “ No thank you for moving in, it’s been really nice to have you here, Elena.” He said, I yawned, nodding, he chuckled. “What time is it?” I murmured, closing my eyes. “Six thirty, and your tired how bout you sleep for a while I have a present for you tomorrow.” He said, kissed my forehead and murmured something in a language I didn’t understand. I held on tighter to him and fell asleep. “Elena?” Someone whispered, “Elena, wake up.” I realized it was Ash and I opened my eyes and sat up. “Yeah?” I mumbled rubbing my eyes. “Its 12:00 AM come with me.” He said pulling me off the bed. We walked out into the end of the hall. He got onto his knees and pulled a latch in the wall, it was a small door. “Come on.” He whispered and I followed him into a room which had canvass’, easels, and murals on every wall, all finished and unfinished. “Oh my god these are beautiful! Did you do all this? Its amazing Ash!” I said pulling him into a hug. He hugged me back. “ Happy birthday Elena.” He murmured looking at me, “Sorry I couldn’t get you anything fancy.” He said, I gasped quietly. “Ash, you’re my present! Everything you’ve done for me, you took me into your home, taught me stuff, Ash, you did everything!” I said hugging him again. God he was so tall. “But I have one question. How old are you?” I asked and he tensed up slightly. “I’m 200 years old next month.” He said quietly avoiding my eyes. “That’s not bad, your not that old Ash, most immortals are probably like 2,000 years old.” I said smiling. “Oh Elena, its so good that I met you.” He murmured into my hair. I looked puzzled. “How come?” “Because you make me happy, I was lonely, ready to die. But you changed that.” He said and I giggled. “And, I’ve been waiting to do this for like 50 years.” He whispered. “ Do what?” I started to ask but his lips pressed against mine before I could say any thing. I was startled at first but kissed him back. I grabbed hold of the back of his shirt melting into him. It was a heart filled kiss, different from the other kisses ive had from a bunch of other douche bags. He pulled back gasping for breath. “I’m sorry.” He gasped and I laughed. “For what? Kissing me? It was nice Ash, I guess that can count as one of my birthday presents.” I said and he laughed, “Can we camp out in here tonight? I love it in here. “ I said giving him the puppy dog pout trying not to laugh. He snickered at me, “I guess.” He said walking to a closet and pulling out pillows and blankets. I walked over and helped him set up the pallet. I stacked the pillows and plopped down on the squishy blankets. “Come on!” I said patting the empty spot beside me. He took off his shirt reveling his smooth porcelain skin; I averted my eyes so I wouldn’t be tempted to stare. He lay down beside me and I removed my oversized tee shirt so I was now only in a tan tank top, and black shorts. I turned on my side looking at him. “How long have you been painting?” I asked him curiously. “Like maybe 50 years or so, its what I do when I get bored, which was as you can see, a lot.” He said laughing I smirked at him. “I love drawing, but I’m good at drawing scary things and anime. Lame right?” I mumbled and he snickered. “Actually I cant draw anime worth my life its very hard.” He implied, and I snickered back at him. “Hey Ash, remember when those people attacked me and… I burst into flames? You said they are demons, how are they demons if they talk about god like that?” I asked resting my head in the fluffy pillow. “They are demons, in human form, they come from the shadow land. There are hundreds of dimensions, and the shadow land is where all the lost forgotten souls go. They become angry and find cracks in the shadow world, and eventually get to this dimension. But when they hit this dimension, they turn into demons, but they don’t know it. They think they are doing a favor to ‘god’ by killing us off, but they are really only harming their self.” He explained, and I nodded. “Well if any of them try to attack me again, I’ll go all ninja on their Asses!” I said fist pumping the air. Ash laughed, “Your something else Elena, you know that?” He asked smiling widely at me. “Is that good or bad?” I asked frowning slightly. He laughed again. “Its good he said, and bent down and kissed me again. I smiled, but he pulled away. “Night Elena.” He murmured and I rested my head on his chest and fell asleep. I dreamt again. But it was horrible, it was the night of my mother’s murder, but instead of her it was I, they were beating me, burning me, stabbing me, anything you can imagine. “Stop! Please!” I screamed, but they were speaking in tongues, and I couldn’t understand them. One of them was stabbing me over and over in the back, I screamed a blood-curdling scream, and it was dreadful. “STOP!” I screamed once more but it was know use. I felt someone shaking me. “Elena! Elena! Wake up! Its not real Elena! Wake up!” Some one was shouting I sat up fast, gasping for breath; I looked down at my self-making sure I wasn’t bleeding. I couldn’t breathe; I looked up at Ash, who was sitting in front of me. I started crying, it was the most horrible dream I ever had. Even thinking about that moment was hard, but reliving it was even worse he pulled me into a hug. “Its okay, it was only a dream.” He murmured into my ear. I held onto him and he lay down again, I was beside him my head on his bare chest. “It was a dream about my mothers death, but instead of me it was her. It was so real, Ash, I even felt it.” I whispered closing my eyes. He stroked my hair. “But it was only a dream, nothing will ever hurt you like that, not over my dead body.” He whispered back, and I hugged him tighter. “Thank you so much for being here with me Ash.” I murmured and fell back asleep. But I heard him say something under his breath that sounded like ‘ no thank you for coming into my life, love.’ I opened my eyes, seeing light through the big glass roof. I looked over at Ash who was still holding me, I giggled, and shook him. “Ash? Ash, wake up.” I whispered in his ear. He groaned and opened his eyes. “Good morning star shine, the earth says hello!” I said quoting Charlie and the Chocolate factory, he snickered. “Morning to you too, what time is it?” He asked I looked at my hello kitty watch. “Seven thirty AM” “Early, how are you feeling this morning?” He asked and I looked at my hands thinking about the dream I had. “Fine.” I mumbled. “It was only a dream.” He said firmly, I looked at him with horror. “But what if that dream comes true, and that actually happens to me Ash?” I said placing my face in my hands. He took my wrist firmly. “No. That will never happen. That may have happened to your mother. But it will not happen to you Elena. You have nothing to be afraid of; I’m here for you, always. Do I have to prove that to you?” He said searching my face. “What do you mean prove it to me?” I asked my head cocked to the side. “Proving it right now…” He murmured and before I could say anything smart to him, he kissed me. Again. I smiled into the kiss, my lips tingling. Kissing Ash was like nice. It was like lying at the beach with a magazine, you could do it all day. I broke away gasping for breath. “Jeez Ash, you sure have a way of proving things.” I mumbled and he laughed. “Said I would, got to prove my point somehow, and I’m not good with words so…” He said and I laughed. “They are probably like WTF where are they.” I said, and he nodded. “Yeah, I’m kind of hungry.” “I can cook really good.” I said smiling. “Okay lets go to the kitchen. And we can see how good you really are at cooking.” He said, I raised my eyebrows. “Is that a challenge Ashy?” I said crossing my arms over my chest. “I don’t know. Is it Eleany?” He said back, I stuck my tongue out at him at walked over to the small door. Once out in the hall I leaned on the rail waiting for Ash, but before I could even put my entire wait on it, it broke and I started to plummet five floors. I screamed, anybody would, but it seemed like I couldn’t concentrate enough to float. So I screamed, waiting for the impact of the marble floor to envelope my body and most likely kill me. Right before I hit the ground somebody caught me, I opened my eyes shaking like a kitten in the water, it was Eli, I hugged him. “Oh my god, Eli, thank you so much you probably just saved my fucking life. The rail was loose I guess and it- it just b-broke.” I stuttered, Ash came running down the stairs, in an inhumanly speed. “What happened?” He demanded taking me in his arms. “There was a loose rail, and she leaned on it, and I broke and she fell.” He said, trying to take the whole thing in, I gripped onto Ash shoulder shaking even harder now; I guess the reality of almost dieing is starting to kick in. “Thank you so much Eli.” Ash said and he nodded. “I’m going to go uh take a shower now, and process what just happened.” He mumbled floating up to the second floor. I tried to stand up but I was unstable, and couldn’t stand, it was probably from shaking so hard. I mean who wouldn’t shake this bad if they were basically falling to there death. “I almost died.” I muttered. “No, you didn’t your immortal remember, it would have felt like you died because your breaking everything in you body, but it would just heal back together.” He said, I looked at him eyes wide. “Then why am I shaking so bad that I cant stand?” I asked. “Because if you were human you would have died. And falling that high would make anyone shake this bad, be glad that Eli was there to catch you.” He said setting me down on the velvet couch. “Im surprised my ear burning screams didn’t wake anybody up.” I said laughing shakily. He sat down beside me. “People here are hard sleepers, I guess you and I are the only ones who aren’t.” He said and I stood up in a ninja stance. “How bout that breakfast!” I said skipping to the kitchen, still a little wobbly. I looked in the cabinet above the stove and got down a flat pan. I walked over to the fridge and got out: eggs, bacon, sausase, biscuits and gravy. I cracked the eggs and poured them into a bowl, added cheese, and onions, put them in the skillet and scrambled eggs done in under five minutes. I got out another pan, so I could cook faster. I cut up the sausage and put the biscuits in the oven. They were done in 15. I sighed all I had was the gravy left to cook, poured water and the gravy mix into a bowl, stirred it and poured it into the pan. Then breakfast was done. I walked over to Ash who was leaning on the door frame, “Breakfast is ready.” I said and bumped past him. I ran up the stairs and told everybody the food was ready. I ran back down the stairs and made my plate. I sat down by Ash. “So what do you think.” I asked eyeing him. “I think you just owned me.” He said and I laughed and punched his arm. “What then bia-tch.” I said smiling evily. He rolled his eyes at me, everybody walked in the kitchen looking like death. I chuckled, then looked over at Ash, who never put his shirt back on. I blushed slightly then looked at my self in a skin tight tank top. “Morning guys.” I said smiling, they all mumbled something between ‘drop dead, and wheres the food?’ they all sat down with their foods and I snickered at their shocked faces. “Oh dear lord, this is so good, I have no words to describe this heavenly food.” Jesse said with a mouth full of food. They all nodded in agreement. “Thanks guys.” I said smiling. I already feel like a part of the family. I sighed and pushed my plate away. “Dude, I’m so full now.” I grumbled, getting up and putting my plate in the sink. “I’ll wash the dishes.” Trinity offered I smiled at her. “Thanks, sis.” I said, walking up the stairs to take a shower. I closed my bedroom door, locking it behind me. I sighed and walked over to my dresser and retrieved my leather skull skirt, black and purple corset, long black coat, fishnets, and my combat boots, and went to take a shower. I walked out of my bedroom, hair straight, and fully dressed. I wore just eyeliner today, nothing special. I stopped at the stairs, and walked back to the library. I opened the big doors and climbed the ladder that led to the latch in the wall; I pulled the latch and slid down into the secret room. I walked around and browsed the books. I picked up a book that titled: Mind Magick. I smiled and sat down on the floor opening to the first page. As you may know, young witch, most magick can be done through the mind. The most basic mind magick spell is floating. Most witches can do that on spot, elemental mind magick is much, much harder though. It requires more concentration and patience. The hardest element to control is fire; it is like a living person. Stubborn and uncontrollable, only the most powerful witches can control it with just a simple ‘fire come to me’. Air is the easiest to summon, but almost as hard to control as fire. Water is the same way, but is more hard to summon, and easier to control. Earth, young witch, is hard to summon and control, just as much as fire. Any witch can summon these elements, but some witches more than others. Controlling the mind is another mind magick trick. The minds of humans are as you know the most easiest, they are simple and do not have the power to block their minds as we do. Witches are much harder. As are the Fair Folk, they have the most powerful mind blocks. Mainly because they are the offspring of witches and demons. There are very simple mind spells, like; remember where your car keys are, or manifestation. But be careful young witch, not everything you do with the mind is good, there is such thing as evil. I finished the book, faster than any book I’ve ever read, I closed the book and put it back on the shelf. I decided to go for a walk. But first grabbed a dagger off the wall, it had a description hanging beside it. One of the angel’s protectors, can kill demons, or send them away. Once you touch this angel, it is yours. This spot will be filled with another one. The blade will shift into was you are the most. The name of this sword is Nekir I carefully held the sword in my hand, it started to change. The process took maybe five minutes. It now was covered in green vines, the goddess symbol in the middle. Snakes carved into it, ruby diamonds encrusted in it. “Whoa,” I mumbled walking to the escilator, I walked to Ash’s door, making sure he wasn’t in there, I opened the door, grabbed a pen and paper; Went for a walk, be back soon. -Elena I walked out the front door, thankfully no one saw or heard me. I walked over to the cemetery, and climbed my favorite tree. I sat there for a while just thinking. Thinking about what has happened, thinking about what Ash said; when one door closes, another one opens. I sighed and closed my eyes. “meow.” Something mewed beside me. I turned my head slowly at the noise. I looked around to find a little calico looking terrified. “Aw, come here baby.” I said talking in the most ridiculous voice, it seemed like the cat smiled and tried to come my way. I giggled, but the cat slipped at started to fall. “No!” I screamed at reached out for the cat, I ended up falling down the tree and thankfull I caught the cat. “Are you okay?” I whipered, gasping for breath the cat started purring and rubbing on my face, I laughed. “Aww, okay well I better get home have fun kitty.” I said to the cat. I got up and dusted my self off. “Okay, my butt hurts from sitting on that stupid tree.” I mumbled and walked to the cemetery gate. I heard a soft mew behind me, I sighed and looked at the young cat. “No, you have to stay.” I said pointing at the animal. I walked out of the cemetery and onto the side walk. Half way home there was a soft mew behind me. “Do you want to come home with me that bad?” I asked the poor creature, it meowed at me as if it knew what I was saying. I sighed and picked up the kitten, it started to purr. I gasped, “I’m going to name you cabbage!” I said, it pawed at my face, I think the cat was grinning! I smiled and began walking again. It thundred, and began pouring down raining again. I put the kitten in my jacket pocket and ran home, I flew in the front door gasping hard. Everyone came running into the living room. “What is it?” Ash asked grabbing at my arms, I laughed at their shocked faces. “it’s raining, and I got a kitten.” I said pulling cabbage out of my jacket pocket, she mewed at everyone proudly. “You got a cat.” Eli said running up to cabbage, she started purring, he picked her up and started to pet her, I snickered, but cabbage started to squirm out of his arm. She padded up to me and pawed at my legs, I giggled. "Aren't you just the cutest thing ever!" I said, it rubbed on my face and everyone stared at me in envy. Erick started to walk toward Cabbage. She tensed up and started hissing, and before I knew it Cabbage jumped from my arms, and started to shapeshift. I gapsed in horror. Soon enough Cabbage had turned into a full fledged tiger. She started growling at him, and he took a step back. She pushed up against me, as if she was trying to protect me. Cabbage hissed at him again and began to growl. She started charging at Erick. "Cabbage!" I screamed just as she jumped at Erick. |
