Dearest Friend

I invoke upon you, dearest friend.
All of the love, compassion and joy
on this earthly plane.
You are the North star in which guides the weary,
the light forever guiding those lost to darkness.
You are the roots embedded deep and secure,
keeping those around you able to grow tall. 
You are everything pure with just a hint of mischief.
The strength within you both inspires and comforts.
Answers only you are brave enough to give,
bring forth questions otherwise unasked.
  Do you know who you are? Do you see the woman
  who is not only beautiful outside but also within?
You give all that you are with out question or consequence,
yet take nothing yourself.
Empathy only you are capable of allows
others to be who or what they are.
Your eyes see deeper in to ones soul while your
heart aches or rejoices along side theirs.
I am proud to call you friend, confidant, and 
I am eternally grateful for all you have brought to my life.
I cherish all of the moments no matter good or bad,
for I have learned so much.
Though the hope to be as fierce a friend as you may be too great,
know that no matter the crisis at hand,
I will do all that is within my power to guide you through.
My light may be dimmer, my roots not quite deep enough,
but I will listen, I will laugh and I will cry along side you.
