This is a sad story of a man that looks for love. I wrote it very quickly. |
A Broken Man By; Ziggy Sweet A kind and romantic man, Joe finds himself alone and in a world of darkness. Suffering from a year of horrible events, Joe desperately finds himself looking for the one thing he has ever wanted, the true and unconditional love of a woman. One night Joe and his buddies go to have a few drinks and listen to some good old fashioned rock –n- roll music. After a few beers and a few shots of bourbon, Joe meets the one girl that he always had a special place in his heart for. She was just as beautiful as she was in high school. With her blonde hair, soft voice, and the most outrageously beautiful eyes a man has ever seen. Shannon was her name. Joe was in ayah as he and Shannon talked about old and present times. The two exchange cell phone numbers and one day went on a date. The date was absolutely fantastic as they both laughed and had dinner. Things progressed between the two old school mates with sweet words passed back and forth between them. Two months passed by and Joe and Shannon were as happy as ever. The two “love birds” were taking things slow as to prevent a relationship disaster. Christmas was near and on Christmas eve-day Joe and Shannon exchanged more than just gifts. Shannon left Joes apartment and everything was more than perfect. A few hours had passed since Shannon left Joes’ small apartment. A text message was sent from Shannon to Joe telling him that things just won’t work out between the two of them. Joe was very confused and sad. Christmas day was difficult for Joe. Although he was blessed to spend this glorious day with his son and the rest of his family Joe, was not at all in the holiday spirit. With a broken heart and again with the agonizing feeling of being alone and insufficient, Joe had given up on his search to find true and unconditional love. Weeks had pasted and Joe was trying to heal the deep wounds in his heart. One day Joe received a message from another old school mate, one that was just as beautiful but not as fresh in his memory. Jennifer was her name and she like Joe complained about her search for true and unconditional love. The two went out for dinner one night and it seemed as if God himself had purposely put the two together. Things had never been so good for Joe so he thought but he was a bit hesitant to gain feelings too fast for this wonderful woman with who he had much in common with as to not make the same mistake twice. Time had passed and things between Jennifer and Joe could not have been any better. They had deep and important talks about their feelings for one another and what they wanted in their future. There were many nights of sweet and tender love making. Her soft lips and gentle touch made it almost impossible for Joe to resist. Joe was finally happy and dispite his haste and unwilling to fall in love, Joe was starting to develop feelings for Jennifer. As the days passed Joe noticed that his conversations with Jenifer became shorter and less frequent. Upon questioning Jenifer about this, Jenifer told Joe that she really liked him and that there was no need for worry. One cold and stormy night Jenifer went camping with some friends. Jenifer told Joe that she wanted him to go with her but he couldn’t because Joe had his son that weekend. Overlooking the fact that it was not a very good night to go camping due to horrific weather. Joe did not care. He was falling in love with the most wonderful woman on the planet and he was spending precious time with his son that he loved so much. One day Joe saw a post on Jenifer’s web site stating that she was with another man. Joe was confused, bitter, and heartbroken. When Joe asked Jenifer about the post he had seen on her web site, Jenifer told Joe that she was not ready for a relationship and that he was not the rite man for her. Again Joe was in a painful world of darkness and despair. A week had passed and Joe had told himself that he had enough rejection for him to handle. Joe spent a wonderful day with his friends and family and a fantastic unforgettable day with his son. Joe and his son went to the nearby park and played catch then went fishing, and ate more ice cream than either one of them could hold in their stomachs. The next day Joe felt very happy and relieved for he knew his everlasting pain would soon be no more. Joe had a bottle of pain pills from a past injury and a bottle of top shelf vodka. After eating the bottle of pills Joe washed them down with the bottle of vodka. It was three days later when Joe’s sister found him cold, stiff and dead. The End |
