I wiped the tears from my face "Daddy. Please don't go," I pleaded. "I'm sorry, Kitten," He said. "But I have to." I watched him leave out the door and kill my little seven year old soul. I ran out onto the rain-drenched streets. "You can't leave me here with her!" I screamed. "Mommy doesn't love me!" "Fine sweetie," He said "I'll be back in a little bit." He didn't. So thats when I realized I had to get out of this depressing town. Escape like my Dad did. -Katrina Pearson I danced like never before. Twirling and jumping and flipping in the air! Once the music ended I struck my fiercest pose and beamed. The audience gave me the loudest standing ovation. I walked offstage as the owner of the Dance competition studio approached me. "Now thats talent if I had ever seen any," She said. "Do you think I'll be famous," I asked excidedly. She laughed out of pity. "In this town your chances are slim to none," And thats when I realized I had to get out of this suffocating town. For my chance of fame. -Wyona Songassi I walk into the locker rooms from soccer practice. "Staring at my junk, Gay-tard?" One of my loser teammates commented. "You wish," I mumbled. As I approached my locker my heart sunk. Spray-painted on it was STUPID FAGGOT. I sighed. Thats when I realized that I had to get out of this racist town. To a more accepting place. -Travis McCarthy |
