poetry night at a coffee house
      The Coffee House

The cold air chilled me
I felt it deep in my bones
The snow was blowing hard
And piling up on the sidewalk
Being a sudden storm,
I was stranded without a coat
Quickly, I ducked into a door
The smell of coffee filled my nose
I looked around the room
Candles flickered on every table
A fire roared in the fire place
Almost every chair was taken
I ordered a large coffee
And took a seat near the fire
A tall bald man set up a stool
And mic across the room
Slowly I started to thaw out
I stayed even longer
Just to see what was happening
Then one after another
Aspiring poets came from the crowd
To read their work
