Poetry from when I was younger.
Breaking away from the shadows,
Fire lit lanterns wink,
This distance is unfriendly to cross,
The barren worlds of thought,
Fields to wander are empty,
Life seems to drift away from yesterday,
Winters thoughts are on my mind, Winters thoughts, winters thoughts.
Pure white doves on the horizon,
Street lamps shimmering on the snow,
A twinkle in the starlit skies,
Illuminate the streets below.
Grey clouds and flurries of the future,
Cast their shadows on the road,
Winters thoughts are all around me,
Winters thoughts… Winters thoughts, winters thoughts.
Oh winters thoughts, winters thoughts, winters thoughts.
Silver moon dancing above a shallow pool,
Reflecting fireworks of the water’s illusions,
The breath of the wind upon the frosty ground,
Fields of white roses sing Christmas greetings,
For children of hearts pure as ice.
Pure as ice, pure as ice, pure as ice,
Winter thoughts winter thoughts winter thoughts.
The black roses will sing when the snow has played,
Till the spring the whites will hum their rhythmic lullaby,
To the moon’s sweet children, giggling above the stars.
Oh winters thoughts, winters dreams, winters lullaby’s,Pure as ice
