Saying goodbye to part of the family |
To My Angel I call you my angel- pure light in my life, That burns ferociously whether it be day or night. With a fire so intense all pain turns to ash- You allow history to become the past. I call you my angel, sent from above, Through your eyes shines the essence of love. You live in this moment and not one beyond. You have shown me that this is where peace can be found. You look not to the past, to the future or to fear- You experience only what is- in the Now you are here. You teach me the lesson that life is a gift- To become more like you will allow me to live. And I look into your eyes and see the depths of your soul, You have access to a world I may never know. You live free of time- not looking forward or back, The blessing of the present is all that you have. And I see my angel slipping away- Her body stifles her soul in so many ways. The body that once was worn like loose garment- Has transformed itself into stifling armament. She can’t move gracefully and sit by your side, Her body now drives her, the Spirit slipping aside. And I look into her eyes as I’ve always done, I ask myself quietly, Where are you my love? Are you returning home to the essence of love? Are you seeking refuge somewhere above? Is your body wishing to shed its skin- So your soul can live in the moment again? Go where you need to my little child. Thank you for gracing my life all this while. Please know your lessons in me live on- Your light and love will shine from beyond. Go in Peace. 12/26/10 |
