Poem from an older me
Today as the winter cold sunk into my hollowed bones,
I took a look back on the days past
through all the pains and all the groans
can I say I've brought a creation that will last?

This sickness wreaks my thinning flesh
as what once was hard turns into mesh.
Time has never given me an easy break
but have I learned what was at stake?

When time was long as was my mane,
before the coldness hit my vein,
And summer warmed my smile new
and I found moments wonderful, the far and few.

There was God, the world, and me
when time moved slow, and I was free.
When I knew what I wanted still
but lost it when I learned Gods will.

Here now I sit in my wooden chair,
you love to talk, but I just stare.
You blame the cold, that it ruined my mind
but I am just thinking of the memories I left far behind

When I think of the creation that i know will last
it is the warmth and smiles I've come to grasp
I noticed it around me, when You'd walk into the room,
my wonderful creation, who just began to bloom.
