How come it Hurts?

This is a poem I wrote tonight and I would love some feedback on it. I found it sounded a lot like a song, but I am not sure if it should be classified as song lyrics or a poem. Please let me know what you think, thank you!



How come it hurts that you don’t care,
How come it hurts that your not there,

How come it hurts that I’m not enough,
How come it hurts,

How do you not understand,
You need to be more of a man,

Wise up and look me in the eye,
Show me you’ll help me when I cry,

Show me you’ll be here for me forever,
Show me you’ll follow me wherever,

How come it hurts that you don’t care,
How come it hurts that your not there,

How come it hurts that I’m not enough,
How come it hurts.
