Poem circa 1993
I lay in the darkm
and dream of iris in the field.
So tender and delicate.
Routching it I see the world from its eyes
and it is vast,
But it is not a true iris.

I hold the sunset forever,
Never letting the day end.
Illuminating the bay into a rainbow
and today I'm crossing over
to a brighter land

But the land is here.

And I'm holding to a dream
that has all but left me.
It sits smiling at my life,
A star that can never be caught.
Look at us,
A life that has and willnever end.

Every time I reach for your love,
You spread your wings,
and fly away.
And I can not help but laugh,
a dream that is called my life,
To which you write these words.
