Set in a future where right brains are not allowed to live. From point of view of a Right.
Cry. Cry. Left brain babies never cry. I cried. I cry. Mommy doesn’t see, no tears, no voice. Cry. Right brains always cry at birth. Right brains are illogical. I am illogical. I feel. Not with hands, with mind. Right brain is wrong brain.

Laugh. Laugh. No sound, but I laugh all the time. Laugh. I know laughter, Mommy doesn’t.  Mommy can feel with hands, Mommy can move. Mommy can’t feel like I feel. Mommy’s a Left brain. Mommy has logic, Mommy doesn’t cry, Mommy was good baby, I know she was.

Mommy let me live. Right brains shouldn’t live, but Mommy let me. Can’t move. Can’t feel like Mommy feels, but I live. I see Mommy, Mommy sees me, and I love Mommy.

         Only Right brains love.

         Cry. Cry.

Doctors change brains, try to make all Lefts. Right brains are wrong. Laugh. Laugh. Doctors change brains, people born knowing everything. All babies talk, only Right babies cry. Doctors can’t tell stop Right brains, can’t tell who will be a Left brain. Laugh. I wanna make sound. What would laugh sound like?

         Lu-af. Lu-af. No.

         Sigh.

         Su-ih. Su-ih. No!

         All wrong. I am wrong.

Doctors change my mind. No sounds, no movements. Mommy let me live. Cry.

         Cu-rih. Cu-rih.
