This was written to my sister-law after the death of my brother. |
Linda's Song The wind was wild and wearisome, As it tossed my boat about. The spray of the waves were drenching me, With fear and dread and doubt. And in the midst of the tempest, I heard an arresting sound, It was the sound of music, Music sweet and clear and strong. Ev'rythings gonna be alright. There was no doubt of the message, "Ev'rythings gonna be alright." EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT. The answer to my sighs and tears, A calm for my trembling heart, God had given the answer in music, Ev'rything is gonna be alright. Will the waves continue beating? Will the swelling tempest cease? Will the salty spray be gone from my cheeks? Most likely not, But, Ev'rything is gonna be alright. I will grasp the song as an anchor, As a pillar that will lift me above, The tumult and fear and wondering, "Everything is gonna be alright" They're only a few words spoken, But spoken by God, In earlier times by a sentence or two, The universe begun. Let me never forget or doubt it, Let me hold on tight, And if the waves get larger, I'll remember, Ev'rythings gonna be alright. Ev'rythings Gonna be Alright" by Paul (Rusty) Lanier |
