A poem on letting misunderstandings destroy our relationships. |
The Wall It started out small The wall. But it was there, A wall Was it a look, Or A word, Or A feeling, But it was there, A Wall And they agreed to leave it, that feeling. They agreed to leave it, By not facing it and tearing it down. Tear it down by force, that wall. Tear it down by a tear and a prayer. Tear it down by admitting the wrong, tear it out of their hearts. Let there be pain, a sigh, a cry, but tear it down. But the wall grew, Until the day they agreed to partition their room, Down the middle and finish what they had begun. So they worked together to build a wall between them They worked together to make their world small. They worked together to block out the sunshine And to take out the joy and make themselves miserable. I wonder , If while they were putting it up, That wall, At least one of them thought, Let's tear it down, This wall Let's tear down by force, This wall. Let's tear it down by a tear and prayer. Let' tear it down by admitting I'm wrong. Let's tear it out of our hearts and let the pain teach us, Not to let it grow so large. Let's tear it down, This wall. But Instead They Built The Wall And Left It There. |
