A Life Not Lived

You want to live your life
Covered in deep despair
Living from moment to moment
With not a single care

This life is full of excitement
Though others may contest
You know the thrill of danger
You have passed its many tests

This life has no commitment
‘Tis what it seems to be
And when the day is down
The bottles your bride to be

What could go wrong with life this way?
There is no failure in it
When life is always up and down
Intoxication stays consistent

Why worry about the solution?
Why think to hard at all?
Just take a puff and pass it on
Get so high you cannot fall

And when you feel alone
Wishing someone was there
Just take a shot take a beer
You’ll never have to care

Just keep saying one day
For it’s the thought that counts
And when that day has come and gone
Buy a bottle and drown your doubts!

There is a life you wish to live
Its boundaries far away
The obstacles between
To difficult to say

So keep on pushing forward
In that comical way you do
Keep saying your not ready
Like it might come out of the blue
