The deals at the store ain't a bargain no more;
You used to buy eight, now you only get four.
We make more money, so who's keeping score?
We spent more cash, but get less than before.
You used to buy eight, now you only get four.

That makes no sense; how can that be?
The idea is kind of silly to me!
In earlier days you got some stuff free
And were not forced to pay any extra fee.

Stuff is changing from way back then;
You used to buy twenty now you only get ten.
And it keeps on happening again and again;
Accept the changing times, just say amen.
You used to buy twenty now you only get ten.

Can't life get better? It always goes bad;
That's the direction to make everyone sad;
So who is to blame if you get kind of mad?
Life don't stop punching since we were a lad.

It is no longer easy for man to survive;
You used to buy ten now you only get five.
"In GOD We Trust" has taken a dive.
If prosperity returns, who will drive?
How are we to know? Will we be alive?
You used to buy ten, now you only get five.

Our money's worth is laying on the floor;
Now we get less, but we used to get more.

We used to buy bottles now cans of beer;
Every day we see and everyday we hear
We spend more money as resources disappear
Every day we see and everyday we hear
Resources disappear adding to our fear.
We shall all survive year after year.
