A plea by the writer, for her lover to tell her what pulls him from her

Take me with you, where you go,
to that dark place of yours.
Take me with you, so I know,
what waits there, on those shores.

Is it in the journey, or your destination,
that you feel the stronger sway?
Does the struggle in getting there,
hold answers along the way?

That place that takes you from me,
that holds something you must need,
So strongly grips your very core,
I wonder if you'll be freed.

Let me see into that darkness,
let me read your face.
Tell me what it is that pulls you,
from my warm embrace.

I wish you believed in love,
I wish you could trust me now.
You could fight instead, to stay,
or do you still know how?
