{{center}b}The Day Called D{/b}
By Audrey Wells {/center}

Spring has flown away,
On wings that span the ocean;
Many bugs buzz today.

Blue rough water batters hulls…

It is a hot June,
A day with deadly sunburns;
The sixth early bright.

Blue rough water batters hulls…

Forth the Pearl at bay,
The Ancon in the shadows;
It is here, D-Day.

Blue rough water batters hulls…

Reporters said, “Loss”
And “ships at their last sparring
Or lying to rest.”

Blue rough water batters hulls…

Their hopes and still dreams,
Of brave nautical sailors
In their prime, it seems.

Blue rough water batters hulls...

Air snaps, roaring sounds
The divine winds push through white clouds
Adrenaline pumps

Blue clear water brushes hulls…

Those sailors; vernal,
Too young to see their last sight,
To hold a trigger,

And as they followed orders…

The commander’s nod
Gave a hint to deliver
Pain and infliction
