In remembrance of September 11, 2001
When I woke up it was beautiful.
It was almost eerie
I felt that the day was too good to be true
I called my mother because I felt panic
She did not answer
I went about my day
while continueing to hold in my anxiety
I chattered with strangers while at the gym
The news came above my head on a local station
I conitued...I ignored...I avoided the thought
I called my fiance
He didn't answer
I continued with my business
I chatted with strangers at another gym
I saw the images
I shook, I trembled, I avoided the thought
I called my sister
She didn't answer
I arrive home
alone
I saw the images
I felt...I cried....I accepted the truth
I shook...I trembled...I prayed
I drop
I pray...I pray...I pray...
I called
No answer
I waited
No response
I saw images
I died inside
Alone
